A service that keeps parents and caregivers updated in real-time on their child’s blood glucose and insulin readings. It connects the Fitbit pedometer to an Insulin pump with a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM), delivering real-time data via bluetooth. It is also an experiential learning tool for children with Diabetes 1, providing emotional security throughout the day and keeping them connected with their caregivers.
Up to the hour monitoring and recording of blood glucose level is crucial and parents are in constant worry when their co-dependant diabetic child is out of sight. The application is designed as a dashboard for the user. With Julie’s profile picture as the focal point, having the navigation elements surrounding her, the layout promotes a sense of control and creates an immediate bond between her and the interface.
During the sign up process, the user registers the Fitbit product to sync with the continuous glucose monitor. Caregivers are able to scan through the child’s daily readings streamed in real-time, view their blood glucose level history displayed in charts and instant message the child, via the application.
